Ren was heartily engaged in one of his favorite acts- reading. There really was no better way to indulge in an afternoon than by burying your face deep within the confines of someone's life which was far less enjoyable than your own. Perhaps a reason Ren enjoyed reading horror so much... some sort of schadenfreude complex compelled him to laugh at the misfortune of others, however fictional they may be. Ren always spent his leisure time reading, as few minutes of the day that may be, seeing as he spent a lot of it at school, or at the gym, or just working out in general. He didn't keep this physique just by thinking about it, you know.
Recently, in the past week, he'd seen a lot less of Mithy around. At school, he seemed to get absorbed into the computers rather quickly in his free time. And as much as Ren hated the phone, he had noticed Mithy hadn't called him quite as frequently... which proved that Ren really was attentive, seeing as Mithy never called more than twice a week anyways, and always for a reason. They saw enough of each other at school, and generally also on the weekends.
Which was what really marked Ren's suspicions. On Saturday, Mithy had made no plans with him. Ren found this odd... after all, after he finished training in the morning, the niether of them ever ahd much to do. And Ren was sure Mithy didn't enjoy spending /that/ much time with his sister... who could?
So he hadn't mentioned anything yet, he was merely laying on the bed in his room at Yoh's inn, reading.
Yoh however, was flitting about, trying to show off his new laptop. Ren really, really didn't need to see the laptop. He'd bought it, after all. Yoh had been pining for it so much that Ren eventually just broke and bought it for him as a birthday gift, the top-of-the-line model, of course, just so he'd stop whining. How could he have predicted that now the thanks wouldn't stop? Silly Ren, he should've known not to buy anything more expensive than Yoh was looking at. Of course, after Ren saw the beat-up piece of junk Yoh was looking at... he simply couldn't avoid it.
It was the video game Yoh had on his computer that he was going on about today. Ren's golden orbs tore from the pages of his book and he tagged the page, slamming the book shut.
"YOH! You know I detest those things. Put it away, go show... Anna." Ren grimaced at the machine, and even more at the little blob displayed on it. Yoh's avatar... was in a bunny costume. Ren wouldn't ask.
Ren was so involved with his argument with Yoh, he didn't hear Anna greet the teen at the door, nor did he hear the door slide open, nor expect to be greeted with yet another laptop-bearing freak...
Today was going to be a long day.
